first blog

Hi Everyone

I have taken the first step and created my blog. I've only created one other blog before in training some years ago (which i have never revisted). So i am hoping to learn enough about blogs so that i feel confident in helping other staff and clients with their blogging questions. I think the concept of lifelong learning is fantastic and it is wonderful that state library is supporting it with free programs and learning options.

Working in a library and being a mother to a toddler i find myelf a bit time poor at the moment so i have never really looked at anyone else's blogs. A few years ago i did read a few parenting forums but i didn't contribute to any of them myself.

Perhaps one way that blogs can be used in our library branch would be to have it available on the check in room computer for staff to view everyday and we could use it with our recent communication (which we currently write down or convey verbally).

Perhaps we could have a blog in which we talk about our regular monthly talks, where we can answer clients questions and perhaps have the authors themselves log on occasionally to have a chat.
